The Funky String Band

Having played on the RSL circuit for a couple of years, Peter Daffy and I decided that we needed an outlet for all the music we loved but never got asked for. That was the initial remit of the Funky String Band. We recruited my high school mate Mike Webber to play bass and after a couple of days rehearsal we recorded the first album.

Soon after, both Mike and I left Australia for Europe and the band was put on hold. In 2005 we made another last minute recording, Mongrel Unleashed with Angus Grant on fiddle and after a few years of Tap Inn sessions in Birnam, we recruited Jamie Jauncey on keyboards for the most recent album And You May Find Yourself.
